'Snow Patrol entertain Manchester crowd'
08/05/2006
British band Snow Patrol "know how to grab their audiences' attention" from the start of their performance, according to a review.
The BBC reports on the recent show by the group that took place at the Ritz in Manchester, stating that it had "a stunning mixture" of old and new songs.
Eyes Open is the new album from the band and they are currently on tour promoting the new record.
It follows 2004's release Final Straw, the multi-platinum selling album that is widely perceived as being the group's breakthrough album.
Front-man and lead singer Gary Lightbody began the show by declaring "it's great to be back in Manchester" and the local crowd were just as pleased, according to the BBC review.
The Ritz holds different events throughout the week including gigs, school discos and a seventies night called Love Train.
Other bands playing at the venue over the next two months include Ed Harcourt and Gomez, who are due to perform at the beginning of June.
